Christopher Paolini: Will Be 4 Books instead of 3
October 30th, 2007 by --KALEB NATION--
Christopher Paolini, author of the Inheritance series commonly known for Eragon and Eldest, has just announced that his former trilogy of books will now have 4 novels. He is famous for being 15 when he started on his books and 19 when he was a New York Times Bestselling author, and was quite an inspiration to me for the longest time, even before I read his first book. He’s sold 16 million copies of his first two novels alone. The titles of Eragon Book 3 and Eragon Book 4 (what people are calling them for now) haven’t been put out yet, though the next book has been set for release in September of 2008, and some speculate the third book in the Inheritance series will be titled Empire. Go here for the news…
Anyone out there a fan of Eragon and Christopher Paolini? And more so, has anyone seen Christopher at a book signing before, and how big was the crowd? I looked for videos on YouTube but there aren’t many of his appearances.

FOUR books? You mean we have to wait, not only for a third book, but also a FOURTH book, too? NO!
Those books are “okay” when you read them the first time, but I tried to read them over again, and couldn’t get past the first two pages… Some books, you can read them over and over again and not get bored, but these books aren’t like that, IMHO.

16 million….those words repeat themselves in my brain. What’s a guy his age do with all that?

Ok, what the heck? What happened to /trilogy/? I’m not complaining, I LOVE the books, I’m excited we’re getting more, but I was really anticipating the end and knowing what would happen. We’ve been waiting for the TITLE for what now, a year and a half, two years? Maybe longer. And now, we’re going to have to wait even longer. I know Paolini is a kid in school and stuff…. but how much more can he write, and how much more time can he consume?

O….K….A…..Y!!! Isn’t that a bit STUPID! I meen, no offense but both Eragon and Eldest say ‘The Inheritance TRILOGY’. What is CP gonna do. Take all of our books back and re publish them as ‘the Inheritance SERIE’ and then sell them back to us… I’ve seen people make mistakes before, but these decisions of Paolini’s clealy show that he is immature and too young to be writing a book trilogy (or series or whatever)!!!
I’m very disapointed in CP, but a part of me benefits from his change of plans - I get to read more of his BRILLIANCE!!!

I am actually not a big fan of Christopher Paolini. I appreciate him putting teen writers out there just like any other teen writer, but his style sounds like something I would have written when I was fourteen - and, coming from me, that’s not really a compliment. Some parts of his book are definitely in need of polishing.
Naturally, Paolini would NEVER come to a little Midwestern city like mine… so no, I’ve never been to one of his signings.

I can’t believe this!!! i’ve been waiting for SO LONG for the third book and now i have to suffer for the next one!? this is almost as bad as waiting for breaking dawn!! I have too little patience!!

him changing his original plans of the trilogy to a cycle shows his MATURITY as a writer. Him knowing that he has to go against what he earlier said, and has published in all the other books (the trilogy) and make the fourth to completely justify his characters and put a perfect ending to this book, shows extreme maturity and brilliance as a writer. And why be disappointed in somebody for changing there mind to further better his writing and make sure that the ending is as perfect as the beginning. Ignorant people.

I love both of his books. They are amazing. They rank up with Harry Potter and Twilight for me. I’ve already pre-ordered Bringsir. I just hope I aquire some new patience in order to wait for the fourth book…

Book 3 is AWESOME I AGREE. Oh and Kaleb, I was at a Brisingr signing about…3 or 4 days ago, I forget, but the crowd was pretty huge. I stood in line about 1 and a half hours to get my book signed. It was short, and Chris is a bit of an awkward speaker (but good with the younger kids) but he cleared up his opinions a bit, and I got my copy personalized. ^.^ Also, he seemed to think that the movie sucked in comparison with the book, and the poor guy got pretty unnerved when a girl asked him what his inspiration for Eragon and Arya’s relationship was. The EragonMoms (like the TwilightMoms) are pretty wild about the books. Yes, there are EragonMoms, I was amazed too.
His favorite line is “DIE, puny human!”
He wrote a third of Eragon on real parchment and an a pen he had to self-ink.
I can’t really remember much at the moment, but email me if you want to know more Kaleb! Thanks, cya!

just hurry the hell up with book 4. the wait was long enough for book 3 and still no closure.
October 4th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
About three years ago, I skipped school to fly from Alaska to Seattle to see Christopher Paolini at a school on Mercer Island. This was around the time of Eldest’s release.
The crowd was huge, and we waited in line for about an hour and a half to get into the auditorium, and after he spoke, another hour to get our books signed and a chance to shake the man’s hand.
It was really cool though to get to meet my favorite author…even if it meant some homework built up while I was gone!

I say go C.P his books remind me some what of J.R Tolkein and that is saying allot, I just hope there isn’t as long a wait for book 4 as I finished the 3rd in five days. And F.Y.I,I am an old lady…

Im excited for a 4th book! it gives everyone something to look forward to. i just finished the 3rd book BRISINGR and i lovvveee it. I must say that im disappointed to have to wait but im still excited. i also believe that these are a group of books that someone CAN read over and over again because it still creates suspense and emotion. thats why i love this so much.
Unfortunantly, i didnt like the movie. It does a horrible job of copying the book. so much is vague and after reading the book, no one can really enjoy the movie anymore b/c its not close to the book.

A 4th book because he thought dwarven politics was something worth including in the 3rd, and every time he visits a place he has to re-describe it as if it was the first time he was writing about the place. Paolini is a tedious writer, and if I hadn’t already invested so much time in the series I’d be done with it.
Now I suppose we have to wait another 3 years for the next book (Eargon 02, Eldest 05, Brisingr 08)

I cannot belive it! I just finished the third book! In all of the others he said it was a Trilogy and I was excited when I neared the end of the third book. Instead, I was dissapointed by Christopher suddenly changing it to a “cycle”. That is fine, but I am sure as hell not going to buy the fourth book for $29 at Barnes and Nobles when I can buy it at Wal-Mart for $18 (both hardback by the way)

I am so glad and aggravated to know that there is going to be a fourth book. I waited for the third Brisingr for a year now and I love the book it was so wonderful. It saddens me to have to wait to read the fourth book I hope CP gets it published fast I am ready to see how it all ends.

The third book was fantastic, the story flows so smoothly. His style of trying is fantastic for plot development in the Brisinger, it’s like the author is growing along with his books and becoming more mature and refining his style. Sadly his weakness is the dialog, Sapphira sounds more dumb than majestic when she talks. I’ll give Paolini props on attention to detail with characters and their development in this book.
Initially I was upset there’s now a fourth book, but if he didn’t do it then Brisinger would have been quick, long, and unsatisfying. I finished the third and feel good about it, unlike Eldest which made me gag the way it was presented and ended (kind of a rough read). What concerns me is, does he have enough material for a final book? He doesn’t leave much left for the imagination.

OMG The Eragon series is amazing. I’m about half through Brisingr and i only started the series bout 4 weeks ago. I can’t wait for the fourth one to come out. I’m biting my fingernails. Its a bit dissapointing though cause i really wanted to know what happens. Is there suppose to be a new rider. If there is i think its either Roran. Or someone else.(i’m not gonna say the name incase you haven’t read Brisingr yet but it haves something to do with Roran and Katrina. So yer.
Love it

Sometimes people misjudge how long a story will actually be. Is it his fault? Possibly, or possibly his editor’s. either way I love the books, and while I wanted a good ending, rushing Brisingr just wouldn’t have made it satisfying. I just wonder how long we’re going to have to wait for the last book!

Omg, the 3rd books is amaazzingg , i’m glad he’s writing a 4th book, the 4th book would have been too rushed, i was a bit sad to read the part where it said there’s gonna be a 4th book cause when i was reading i was like well it’s not the ending, but now i’m super excited for the 4th book to come out ; does anybody know when it’s coming out?
