Cascada - Just Like A Pill

December 7th, 2007 by --KALEB NATION--

Cascada - Perfect Day album cover art I came to this new Cascada song expecting to hate it. After all, no one could possibly sing Just Like A Pill like Pink could. What hit me like a dump truck from the sky was a near-perfect dance remake of the original, staying true to the grittiness of the song and slamming me with the heavy saws after the chorus. Natalie Horler, the face and voice behind the group Cascada, has done a wonderful job on this track- and despite the fact that the song is entirely unrealistic coming from the mouth of a pop singer, I think for a song it works well.

Pink wrote this song based upon her rough teenage years and the honesty with which she speaks can only truly come from the writer herself. This version had to be cleaned up a little for radio (yeah, that DJ sound isn’t your computer skipping). For comparison, here’s the original Just Like A Pill from Pink, which came out back in September of 2002.
