Christopher Paolini: Book 3 is called BRISINGR
January 17th, 2008 by --KALEB NATION--
Christopher Paolini, author of Eragon and Eldest, has announced that book 3 in the Inheritance series will be called Brisingr. I know most people who read this site are fans of the first two books, so read about it over here….
For the comment box: what do you think of the cover art? And didn’t Paolini say it would be a green dragon?

Brisingr is a Norse word for fire
Click on the image to see the cover. I actually like the gold on black: it’s his best cover yet for the book. I will update this page as more news comes in.

I think the cover looks pretty cool, but that’s only because I think dragons are pretty cool looking. And I don’t really care whether it’s a golden dragon, a green dragon, or a green dragon with golden polkadots… he can make his dragons whatever color he wants them to be.

I always thought it would be green; after all, red, blue, and green go together.

He has told people it would be green, too- don’t know why they changed it. But I actually like the gold on black

have a picture of galbatorix”s dragon and saphira fighting in mid-air,if they end up fighting in brisinger. that would be totally awesome. but the cover right now is pretty sweet. but the pic of a dragon is getting kinda old.

I think the next 2 book thats on there way are going to do well and be great reading, I so carn’t wait untill they come out so I can read them.
I so hope that there will be more than 4 dragons.
Eragon has one (blue),
Murtagh has one (red),
Galbatorix has one (black), and there is one more that has not hatched yet that Galbatorix has at his castile where he lives.

I liked both books and I think that Chris has a great imagination, but I think the books could have been written better. I have read both books and I listen to them (among others) on my MP3 player at work all the time, but for some reason I think they were not well written. I can’t explain why I think that, does anyone else think that also? Like I said before I love the books and I think that Chris has a great imagination. And I also think he did a better job of writting them than I could have done, but when I compare them to the other books I have read they just don’t turn out to be as nicely written. If he had a few other books under his belt and then wrote these I think he would have done alot better of a job. But that is just my opinion and like I have said before, I do like the books and he has a great imagination.

I think that christopher has a great mind and that this book will be just as good, or better, than the first two. Personally, I could care less about what color the dragon is, all I care about is the actual reading material.
May 24th, 2008 at 7:48 pm
i thought it would be green because the three eggs in the book are blue red and yellow

to comments #s 7, 11, 12, and 13, you guys are pretty stupid, because the series he’s writing, it’s a trilogy. it means he’s only writing three books featuring this story. If you liked the books so much, at least try and find out a LITTLE bit of information on it.
June 10th, 2008 at 12:35 am
to comment #22 its been announced to be a CYCLE meaning 4. So before you put some other people down maybe YOU should look into the information.
And this book is fantastic!
i doubt that the dragon featured on ‘Brisingr’ is Glaedr because this dragon looks FIERCE. Unlke GLaedr. I think a more likely reasoning is that this dragon featured is the ‘god’ that Christopher has foretold us about.
Look at how the dragon is pictured. Fierce,Powerful, Almost menacing.

Finaly I have been waiting for that book ever since I Finished ERAGON & ELDEST.
Plus I Hope they Make the ELDEST Movie Like they did for ERAGON.
June 11th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
I must be out of the Eargon loop because I never heard of a possible green dragon on the cover. I like the gold dragon more than the idea of a green one though. I like that this book is breaking out of the trend.(Title starting with an “E”, 6 letter title, ect.)

As an ardent lover of Eragon and Eldest I just can’t wait for the 3rd book. I think golden dragon on black looks fully mysterious and magical.

Eragon is one of my fav books. I love both of them and i cant wait for the next book 2 come out. i wanna get it on pre order. Also, the movie was lame, but the actor for Eragon sure is hott! =)

first off, Chris.P. keeps mentioning that some of the major characters are going to die in the third book; because he’s had to chop the last sec. in half, the green dragon’s role was probably more active in that second half which is why it would make more sense to have the fourth book green and replace the third with Glaydr (who could be one to die- not a spoiler, just a theory I’ve heard).
Eragon’s name in the Ancient Language could be Brisingr- that would explain how he had such a natural talent with fire the first time he used magic (besides, he has to /someday/ figure out his true name to have Solembum’s advice amount to anything)

“Eragon” was a TERRIBLE book. It barrowed its plot heavily from “Eye of the World”. Comparing the maps shows that Poalini modified the map from “The Wheel of Time”. As well, he modified the names of the underlings. Wheel of Time: Foresaken. Eragon: Forsworn.
The reason the book was praised was that many thought as the author matured the story would too. How wrong they were, for as many saw in “Eldest” Paolini’s potential is not reflected in his tallent.
“Eldest” was long and boring, with magical solutions to all Eragon’s problems. There was no struggle nor emotion, only a small plot stretched over 668 pages.
“Inheritance” is a shallow excuse for a series which is bound for the rubbish bin.
