When I was in college, the fire alarms went off at least twice a week because our stove and oven let off smoke the second they were turned on. Because of this, I’ve noticed that I have a strange lack of any feeling of danger when I hear alarms now, and would much rather just turn the television up louder and throw things at the ceiling than run for cover 😀
