Of course our first interview was with HLN’s Dr. Drew On Call because they are my favorites and Dr. Drew is a boss. We talked about the Digifest proposal, what it was like going down on one knee in front of 12,000 people… and gave them an exclusive on the wedding date!

I know it LOOKS like I hogged all of the talking time. This was Taylor’s first TV interview since she was 13 (on The Tyra Banks Show) and I didn’t want to make her speak up too much in case she was nervous.

She was awesome though — I’m so proud of her! We have more TV stuff on the way so next time she’ll do the talking… and I’LL wear the engagement ring. 😉

I met Taylor at the YouTube convention Playlist Live. At Vidcon, she said “date me!” So at Digifest, on stage in front of 12,000 people, I said “marry me?”

Both of us have been making YouTube videos for 7 years — Taylor at youtube.com/bfftaylor and me at youtube.com/kalebnation. When I started my channel, I had no idea that marrying a YouTuber was in my future.

Long story short, we got a puppy. Taylor let me name her. So of course I named our puppy SELFIE… because what else do you name a puppy that everyone will want to take selfies with?

She already has her own Instagram account, a Twitter profile, and even a little website. But what else would you expect from a puppy who is ACTUALLY NAMED Selfie?

That’s all I can say for now. But don’t worry. I actually got permission to film a vlog behind-the-scenes on set. Watch for that to show up on YouTube soon.

Most Bizarre Moments In My Life

My life has had many bizarre moments. The past few months have seen some of the bizarre-est (sic). I talk about them all in my new vlog:

Some of the things I’ve been up to lately include….

  • appearing in at least 3 music videos, which have been seen over 100,000,000 times (OH SNAP)
  • being cast in a national Taco Bell TV commercial (100% TRUE)
  • guest-hosting Dr. Drew On Call on HLN at least 4 times (You were watching, RIGHT?)
  • adopting the most adorable puppy in the world (You won’t BELIEVE her name… but it’s REAL).

But probably leading all of the bizarre-ities (sic) would be discovering that my first novel, THE FARFIELD CURSE, was translated into Russian and has been in Russian stores since 2012. I had no idea. Nobody tells the author anything.

After days of painful waiting and secret-keeping… I can finally announce…

I’m in a national Taco Bell TV commercial!

Yes. It’s 100% true. I love Taco Bell so much I got a job eating Taco Bell on TV.

There are so many secrets surrounding this shoot that “I was cast in a national Taco Bell commercial!” is literally all I can say about it. But don’t worry. I have lots more as soon as the bosses say go. The commercial was just filmed yesterday so it’ll show up sometime in the next few weeks!
